Overview of the role:

The fulfillment of website orders is pivotal to the current and future success of our business and this role will lead and be a core part of our small packing team, ensuring orders are correctly picked, safely packed and dispatched efficiently.

Working alongside our Warehouse Operations Manager and the Managing Director, you’ll be part of a supportive team working together to ensure that our warehouse activities run smoothly.

 

Core elements of the role

  • Picking and packing of products for customers’ orders utilising our warehouse management system for processing shipments.
  • Communicating with packing team at the start of each shift to set priorities and dispatch targets.
  • Checking that all orders have been successfully dispatched and any issues delaying shipment are dealt with efficiently.
  • Following up on picking errors and damages in transit to ensure that our processes are optimised to minimise disruptions to our customers and costs to the business.
  • Ensuring all international orders have been processed correctly and efficiently.
  • Ensuring all wholesale orders are dispatched promptly and in accordance with set lead times.
  • Ensuring we maintain sufficient stocks of packaging materials at all times.
  • Ensuring the packing areas are kept clean and tidy and comply with health and safety processes.
  • As we are a small team, periodically you will also be required to deliver stock to our two local shops in the company van.

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment and familiar with digital picking and dispatch.
  • Experience of using computer-based inventory management software.
  • Able to work at height and lift heavy boxes to support movement of stock in the warehouse
  • Full UK Driving Licence – must be able to drive a small van
  • Proof of right to work in the UK

  • Great communication skills to ensure that the packing team are clear what is needed from them and feel motivated to perform.
  • Excellent attention to detail – some of our products are fragile and need to be packed appropriately and presented well.
  • Organised and systematic approach to their work.
  • Confident problem solver – to minimise dispatch delays we are looking for someone who is quick to spot problems and deal with them on their own initiative or with support from colleagues

This is a summary of the role, but as we are small team, you will be expected to undertake additional ad-hoc duties as and when necessary to fulfil the needs of the business.

Working hours

  • Normally Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, but during busy times some weekend shifts may also be required.
