The Shipwreck Collection Edit
The Story
Alison and Rebecca were at an antique auction a couple of years ago and came across a folder of artwork... Inside the folder was the most beautiful imagery, it was love at first sight. After looking further, they found that they were 18th century original hand-coloured prints depicting a series of 'ships in distress'...

Cream Cornwall was born in Falmouth, a place where maritime is the history and heart of the town. From the information on the images, we believe that they are date from around the same time as when Falmouth was under threat from the Spanish Armada, and was defended against them from Pendennis Castle! You can feel the Cornish maritime heritage in the imagery.

Alison and Rebecca put down their bid and got to work in the design studio!

I recently bought one of your gorgeous “Shipwreck” lampshades, and a metre of the “Shipwreck” day fabric, enough to make a table-runner and the front of two cushions. They look amazing in our dining room, which has an old slate floor and a brick arch- all the colours look beautiful together. I would love to see table runners and tea towels in this fabric, or maybe napkins.

Dear all at Cream. We travel to Cornwall every year and have bought lots of bits and pieces from your gorgeous shop/shops. This past Christmas we had just finished a redo of our front room and as we love Cornwall so much we decided to give it a bit of a seaside nautical look ,not deckchairs and ice creams, but shipwrecks and crashing waves 🌊 and as it’s not looking like we will get to Cornwall this year for obvious reasons we can see the beautiful lampshades and cushions that remind us so much of our favourite place in the world. Love to you all Adele 😘
