Retail Shop Manager – Cream Cornwall

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and a performance-related bonus

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Retail Shop Manager to lead our store and team, delivering an exceptional customer experience while achieving sales targets and ensuring the store is a true reflection of the Cream Cornwall brand.


You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop, creating an inspiring and efficient environment for both customers and your team. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, creativity, and a genuine love for interiors, lifestyle products, and storytelling through design.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver outstanding customer service, building strong relationships with local and visiting customers.

  • Lead, coach, and inspire your team to achieve store targets and uphold brand standards.

  • Manage all aspects of store operations: merchandising, stock management, staffing, and reporting.

  • Work with our social media team to create content.

  • Maintain visual standards and seasonal displays, ensuring the store is beautifully presented at all times.

  • Be confident in product knowledge to tell the story behind our collections and craftsmanship.

  • Oversee inventory and ordering, liaising with head office.

  • Support in planning and hosting in-store events and product launches.

  • Uphold health and safety, GDPR, and store compliance policies.

  • Liaise with customers and our makers for bespoke curtains, blinds, and any other soft furnishings.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail management (homewares, lifestyle, or interiors a plus).

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a small team.

  • A creative eye for styling and store presentation.

  • A customer-first mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Organised, proactive, and confident using point-of-sale systems and retail software.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for the Cream Cornwall brand and ethos.
