At Cream Cornwall, we often say our shops are more than just places to shop—they’re destinations in themselves. Each one reflects the heart and soul of the town it’s in, and each tells a part of our story. What began with a single store in Falmouth in 2016 has now grown into three inspiring locations across the South West and beyond. Whether you’re wandering through cobbled streets by the sea or exploring the elegance of a Georgian city, our shops are little havens filled with coastal beauty and carefully designed homewares. In this post, we’re taking you on a journey through all three of our shops—Falmouth, St Ives and Bath. We’ll share a bit about each location, what makes them special, and why we chose them as homes for Cream Cornwall.

Falmouth: Where It All Began (Opened 2016)

Falmouth holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where Cream Cornwall began. Nestled on the south coast of Cornwall, this thriving harbour town has long been a magnet for creatives, sailors, students and seekers of sea air. Our Falmouth shop opened in 2016 and became our flagship store—our home base and the heart of our brand.

Located on Arwenack Street, just a short stroll from the harbour, our Falmouth store is filled with the spirit of the sea. You’ll often hear the call of gulls outside and feel the fresh breeze from the water. Inside, the shelves are filled with everything from our classic blue and white bone china to illustrated cushions, throws and candles—many inspired by the coastline just outside the door.

How we got our first shop

We had been wholesaling for three years when we saw a shop in town that we thought we could afford.

We went to look at it and it was ok, but when we came out I said to our now landlord, "what we really want is this shop", pointing to the one next door.

At the time it was an art gallery and we thought it was completely beyond us. He told us that he would bear it in mind.

Back we went to our studio, which was in New Street, and I took a photo I had taken of the shop and put Cream Cornwall above the door, printed it out and stuck it on the wall. I also had it as my screensaver!

One day out of the blue, the landlord called us and said that if we wanted it, the shop was ours.

That's still a "pinch-me" moment and we just couldn't believe it! We still feel so lucky to have what we think is the most beautiful shop in Falmouth and the view overlooks the whole harbour.

Beautiful things, beautifully made

This has been our tag line since we began and we still stand by it. Everything we do is considered and something we would be happy to have in our own homes.

So many of our designs have been part of Cream since we started and have never lost their appeal.

So when you visit one of our shops, don't be surprised to see a lot of it!

Falmouth is a town full of charm and surprises. It’s home to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, which sits right on the water’s edge and is well worth a visit. There’s a strong independent scene here too—from coffee roasters and bakeries to galleries and boutiques. Walk up the hill and you’ll find Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII, and offering sweeping views of the coast. Or catch a ferry across the bay to explore the Roseland Peninsula.

Fun fact: Falmouth is one of the world’s deepest natural harbours and is often visited by tall ships and cruise liners. There’s always something happening on the water, and the town’s maritime spirit is woven into daily life.

St Ives: Our second shop by the sea (Opened July 2018)

If you’ve been, you’ll know there’s nowhere quite like it. Perched on Cornwall’s north coast, St Ives has been drawing artists and travellers for generations. The light here is famously beautiful, bouncing off the sea and sand in a way that makes everything glow.

Our shop is right in the heart of Fore Street—just steps from the beach and surrounded by cobbled alleyways, pasty shops and art galleries. It’s a tiny space, but packed with atmosphere. Walking into our St Ives store feels like stepping into a little jewel box of coastal treasures. We may be small here, but the energy is vibrant and joyful.

St Ives is best explored on foot, with every turn revealing a new view of turquoise sea or a hidden courtyard. Art lovers won’t want to miss Tate St Ives or the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. And of course, there’s the beach—Porthmeor for surfing, Porthminster for a more tranquil swim, or the little coves tucked into the coast path.

Fun fact: The St Ives lifeboat crew have been saving lives at sea since 1839. Their bright orange boat can often be seen launching from the harbour, and their courage is part of the town’s proud story.

How we found our second shop

In July 2018, we opened our second shop in the iconic seaside town of St Ives. We've both always loved St Ives, as so many of you do, and it was the perfect place to open our second shop. Unfortunately we couldn't find anything! We rang all the estate agents and no one had anything. There was a cafe but we were told that it wasn't suitable as it had a stair case in the middle of the shop. So we decided to wait.

One day, Allison was visiting and walking down Fore Street, which is the main street, she saw the cafe that we were told wasn't suitable and peered through the window. She rang me up and said that she thought we should go and have a look.

So we did. It wasn't perfect but we knew we could make it work. We got the keys to the shop in early July and the season was in full swing, so time was of the essence. It had been a cafe so there was so much to do. But with the help of our trusty handyman Dan, we worked solidly for 3 weeks and opened and have never looked back.

It was an cottage, so it has 4 rooms that are filled with coastal homewares and has a beautiful view from one of the rooms upstairs.

We even had a 90 year man who came in to tell us that he had been born there!

Bath: Elegance Meets the Coast (Opened March 2023)

In March 2023, we opened our third shop in the beautiful city of Bath. This was a big moment for us—our first shop outside Cornwall. We wanted to bring a piece of the coast inland, and Bath felt like the perfect fit. Known for its Georgian architecture, Roman history and stylish flair, it’s a place where tradition meets creativity. And just like Cream Cornwall, it’s timeless, curated, and full of detail.

You’ll find our Bath shop on New Bond Street, a stone’s throw from Milsom Street and just around the corner from the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. The shop is light, spacious, and filled with our signature coastal palette. It’s where customers come to find something special—whether that’s a gift box for a loved one, or the finishing touch for their home.

Bath is the kind of city where you want to linger. Start with a walk around the Royal Crescent or take the waters at the Thermae Bath Spa. Enjoy lunch at one of the many independent cafés and restaurants, then wander the side streets to find bookshops, florists and interiors stores. There’s always something happening—from food festivals to literary events—and the city has a real buzz, especially on weekends.

Fun fact: The entire city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its honey-coloured stone, grand crescents and history make it one of the most visited cities in the UK, but it still manages to feel like a village.

We are so lucky to have our shops in such amazing locations! Who would have thought that we would get a shop in Milsom Street in Bath? So much history and such a beautiful place to shop.

A Shop for Every Mood, A Welcome in Every Town

While each of our shops is different, they’re united by the same warm welcome and thoughtful detail. You’ll always find a team member ready to help, and our signature scents drifting through the air. Every product has been designed with care—from the first pencil sketch to the final stitch or pour—and we hope our shops feel like spaces where you can slow down and take it all in.

Many of our customers tell us they visit all three shops—and we love hearing stories of people popping into Falmouth on a sailing trip, then discovering us again in Bath months later. Each shop is its own chapter in the Cream Cornwall odyssey, and we’re so grateful to have grown in these three unique places.

So whether you’re planning a coastal getaway, a city weekend, or just fancy a little interiors inspiration, we’d love to welcome you into one of our shops. Come and say hello, meet the team, and discover what’s new.

And don’t forget to tag us in your photos—we love seeing our products in your homes, and your visits are what make it all worthwhile.

With love from the coast to the city, we hope to see you soon in one of our shops.
